This Top Flite 5-club set covers the basics for $140. The graphite shafts are light, and the stainless steel heads are durable. The bag is basic but works. My 8-year-old started with this and enjoyed it. However, the set doesn't include a wood or hybrid, so longer shots are tough. Also, the blade putter might be hard for kids. Solid budget option but you'll want to upgrade soon.
